I am glad your birthday was so good this year, and especially glad that I was (a very small) part of making it that way. God has good things in store for you. I know it is hard to deal with things of the past sometimes, and I totally understand wanting to go back and re-do things, but we just have to remember that God is in control and He wastes none of our life experiences – even if we made poor choices.

On Iraq: Good job at articulating your thoughts. I think you’re really growing in how you address politics. And your last paragraph definitely had me crying.

On your birthday: I’m glad it was a good one for you. I know it’s hard to see progress in ourselves–we tend to just look at the mistakes, the wasted time. But God is at work in you. (And don’t forget that He’s great at making things NEW–you might be getting older chronologically, but God is in the business of making you new.)

On ketchup: Yup. Sloth. Hyena. Barney. Pretty much describes you. ;-)
